That also means making strategic investments in our transportation infrastructure and pothole repair. By extension, that also means planting and maintaining many more trees than we have to enhance our county’s tree canopy and beauty; combat the intensifying heat-island effect; and provide residents with more shady respites during historically hot, dry summers. Arts / Culture Invest in enrichment, recreational, arts, and community service options for our youth to engage constructively; keep them safe and off the streets; steer them away from gang activity and graffiti; and support a positive trajectory to adulthood. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Serve as a trusted partner for our sheriff’s department and the Aurora Police Department to ensure they have the resources, support, tools, and oversight they need to keep us all safe. Wages / Job Benefits Elevate the profile of Arapahoe County Works as a resource for connecting people to good-paying jobs and apprenticeships, internships, and mentorships. Defense / Veterans Honor our veterans and their families while supporting every facet of their well-being including defending and modernizing access to Veterans’ services across Arapahoe county.
