Economy While I value fresh perspectives in governance, my immediate focus is on driving economic success and expanding affordable living. Another term allows me to advance our shared vision for Winter Garden's prosperity. Infrastructure / Transportation Our next layer of business expansion lays in our continued efforts to execute on our comprehensive plan that goes beyond W. Plant St. Following the successful transformation of Downtown Disney to Disney Springs, this expansion, including a new parking garage, promotes business growth, tourism, and increases home values, while giving Winter Garden residents the benefit of continued no city tax increases. Winter Garden continues to have one of the lowest millage rages in Orange County because of strong fiscal management and creating taxing revenues from businesses, not homes. Infrastructure / Transportation Having parks, green spaces, and recreational activities within urban areas is immensely beneficial. Not only do these spaces enhance the quality of life for residents by providing serene retreats and opportunities for physical fitness and social interaction, but they also contribute to improved mental health and a sense of community. Infrastructure / Transportation Annexation - This is one of the most critical components to Winter Garden's future. Hundreds of parcels of land and miles of roads remain under Orange County's jurisdiction. The impact of this allows developers to build whatever the county will allow without input or approval of Winter Garden officials. Arts / Culture I have initiated a new plan, that began in 2023, where City Staff outlines the annual schedule as opposed to each single event. This gives commissioners a big picture view so that we can shape and tailor events to meet the diverse needs of our community and promote unity. Arts / Culture For FY25, I have asked the City Manager to include a dedicated team, working under the Director of Parks, that is solely responsible for selecting, planning, and executing special events
