Infrastructure / Transportation Aging infrastructure and years of underfunding have taken a toll, hindering economic growth and placing unnecessary strain on small businesses. Rose is committed to prioritizing investment in modernizing and rebuilding our infrastructure to strengthen our foundation for future success. Taxes / Budget The Unified Government is facing a revenue crisis - basic services are underfunded while residents bear the burden of high property taxes. Rose believes the solution lies in smart, targeted economic growth and the expansion of housing to broaden the tax base. She will work with all relevant taxing bodies to explore real, workable solutions for property tax relief. Economy A lack of transparency and communication has made the county a difficult place to do business. Rose will replace “business as usual” and bureaucracy with open dialogue, integrity, and true collaboration between the business community, investors, stakeholders, and the UG Commissioners. Government Reform County employees deserve a work environment that values and empowers them. Rose understands the need to rebuild morale and foster a culture of support and accountability within the Unified Government. Economy Too many investors and small business owners have shared the same frustration: they can’t even get a call back from the Unified Government. Under Rose’s leadership, that will change. She will eliminate the barriers to investment and actively pursue strategic economic development—supporting both large and small businesses—across every part of the community.
