Government Reform I will explore ways to simplify the process for voters and candidates registering as Independents in St. Mary’s County, making it easier for residents to participate fully in our democratic process. Social Services I support strengthening mental health services through coordinated crisis response that connects people to help quickly and effectively. Education Public education is one of the most effective tools we have to reduce poverty, strengthen our workforce, and support families. Education funding has not kept pace with inflation, unfunded mandates, or the true cost of educating today’s students; including transportation, pre-K, special education, multilingual learners, and students living in poverty. While we should examine state mandates, supporting public education must remain a priority. Government Reform I will explore the idea of Lexington Park becoming an incorporated town, working with residents and stakeholders to determine whether incorporation could improve local services, accountability, and community representation. Housing As County Commissioner, I will work with community partners to develop practical, locally grounded solutions that address workforce housing in St. Mary’s County. Taxes / Budget I believe in responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars; identifying potential waste, setting clear priorities, and ensuring every dollar works for our community. Economy I will explore limiting or eliminating dynamic pricing practices in St. Mary’s County to protect consumers from unpredictable and unfair price increases. Families deserve transparency and stability, not sudden spikes that make everyday costs harder to manage. Housing I will explore options to limit housing rental application fees in St. Mary’s County to reduce barriers for renters. This includes promoting fee transparency, encouraging reusable screening reports, and protecting applicants from excessive costs, while still allowing landlords to responsibly cover legitimate expenses. Economy I will work to simplify tegulations and processes for small businesses in St. Mary's County, making it easier for them to start, operate, transfer, move, and grow.
