My Top Issues

Economy

Standardize and simplify business start-up processes.

Taxes / Budget

Review City contracts and ensure transition towards at least a 51% use of local businesses to serve city needs.

Economy

Offer combined economic incentives for business investment.

Infrastructure / Transportation

Regularly review bus routes to improve coverage issues. Some of our routes haven’t changed in 100 years.

Education

Strengthen relationships with schools with the goal of making the BOE more responsive to the needs of teachers and parents.

Government Reform

Create a Business Advocate Office that would be a single point of contact that would help business owners through the paperwork and process of opening their business in a way that is clear and easily understood. The Business Advocate Office can be created from existing city funds and will not require new taxes.

Criminal Justice / Public Safety

I support the development of new and effective programs such as CAHOOTS (Crisis Assistance Helping Out on the Streets), as alternatives to sending officers into situations that they are not appropriate for. This will allow our police to focus.

Infrastructure / Transportation

Transition to per-block meters to save money on repairs and staffing costs.

Infrastructure / Transportation

Create a Transit Pass System offering annual and short term pass cards. Cards that enable user access to public parking, and buses.

Legislation

Institute a Participatory Budgeting System.

Infrastructure / Transportation

Develop and Implement Effective Mass Transit.

Education

Promote investments into our schools that reflect the needs of teachers and parents.

Government Reform

Establish a Citywide Community Financial Institution Open to All city residents.

Criminal Justice / Public Safety

Keeping our streets and neighborhoods safe is of the utmost priority to me! We need to also ensure accountability and enact new and effective approaches to public safety.

Infrastructure / Transportation

Develop a city-wide citizen accessible internet utility.
