Fun Fact

I have a passion for giving back to the community. In Silver Spring, I volunteered with Meals on Wheels twice a week. In St. Louis, I contributed my time at St. Anthony’s Food Pantry and with my church’s men’s group. Now in Hays, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with First Call for Help, the Salvation Army, Feeding Hays, and the Ellis County Ministerial Alliance. Supporting others and connecting with my community has always been incredibly rewarding for me.

Past Experience

Responsibilities: I recently interned in the U.S. Senate for Senator Jerry Moran, where I engaged directly with constituents, supported administrative tasks, and contributed to research projects. Additionally, I served as a Student Office/Marketing Assistant at Fort Hays State University, where I developed event planning and social media management skills. My role as an Administrative Assistant at St. Anthony’s Food Pantry in St. Louis also gave me hands-on experience in managing records, coordinating with staff and clients, and supporting food distribution efforts. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, all of which I’m passionate about applying to serve my community Skills: Public Service and Community Engagement: Through your volunteer work and internship in the U.S. Senate, you’ve gained experience in understanding and addressing community needs. Constituent Relations: Your role in Senator Moran’s office involved direct communication with constituents, giving you experience in listening to concerns and providing helpful solutions. Administrative and Organizational Skills: Managing events, schedules, and records as a Student Office Assistant and Administrative Assistant demonstrates your ability to handle complex tasks efficiently. Research and Policy Analysis: Your experience conducting research projects and taking notes in legislative meetings has built your ability to analyze policy matters. Collaboration and Teamwork: Working alongside faculty, volunteers, and government officials shows your strength in collaborating with diverse groups to achieve goals. Communication Skills: Whether through letter writing in the Senate, social media management at FHSU, or engaging with clients at the food pantry, you’ve developed clear and effective communication skills. Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Addressing community challenges through your volunteer efforts demonstrates your initiative and problem-solving abilities.
