Education We have to invest in programs that open doors for everyone, so we invest in public schools for our children, trade schools, and colleges for adults, and we make that accessible to everyone no matter the circumstances of their birth. Housing Making Home Ownership Attainable. Healthcare Investing in care providers ensures that care is available no matter where you live and creates good paying jobs that support the community. Infrastructure / Transportation Investing in Infrastructure including energy, communications, water, transportation, and human infrastructure such as childcare, healthcare, and emergency services. Government Reform Increasing Aid to Municipalities and Cultivating Better Local Government Partnerships. Healthcare Passing the New York Health Act ensures that all residents can access the care they need without worrying about deductibles, co-pays, or rising premiums. Economy Enabling and empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty, Building and strengthening the middle class, Ensuring that businesses are supported with necessary infrastructure, and Encouraging a circular systems approach to doing business in the state. Economy Investing in Agriculture. Environment / Energy Ensuring responsible use of natural resources, Reducing waste and pollution, and Conserving the life and biodiversity that makes up our ecosystem. Civil Rights Ensuring equity and equality in all of our systems, Guaranteeing that people are heard and included in how our society moves forward, Recognizing, preserving, and protecting everyone's rights, Ensuring that all peoples' basic needs are met. Healthcare Investing in and providing for healthcare lowers costs by encouraging early interventions that lead to better health outcomes. Education I am for exploring the idea that the state's public education funding can come entirely from the state level and not have to rely on property taxes while maintaining local control of the funds to reflect the local school system's priorities. This would require some major reforms to be enacted with administration, but we have the ability to do so and should.
