Economy In Congress, Sepi will support policies to get money in the pockets of Californians who need it the most by reducing costs of health care, home energy, and prescriptions. Criminal Justice / Public Safety In Congress, Sepi will continue to support innovative solutions that keep our communities safe, including gun violence prevention. Housing Sepi understands that housing is a human right. In Congress, Sepi will support policies that address the long-term issue of building more affordable housing, while also increasing crucial resources to help get our unhoused neighbors off the streets. Immigration As a first-generation immigrant and as someone who was an undocumented immigrant until she was 16, Sepi understands the significance of the American Dream and has fought for more than 20 years to make it a reality for all who seek it. Sepi knows we must create a fair and accessible pathway to legal status and citizenship and treat the immigrant community with respect. In Congress, Sepi will fight to make this a reality. Environment / Energy Sepi will take action in Congress just like she did as Mayor, to halt the deadly impacts of climate change by supporting policies to transition to a green economy. Economy In Congress, Sepi will work to cut red tape and have an open door for small businesses, helping them navigate the bureaucratic challenges that keep too many dreams from succeeding. Healthcare In Congress, Sepi will be a leader advocating for increased resources for mental health treatment, including suicide prevention. And she’ll work to increase funding for mental health task forces, ensuring that the appropriate responders come to the aid of those experiencing mental health crises and get them the help they need. Sepi support single-payer healthcare for all because healthcare is a human right. Abortion / Contraception In Congress, Sepi will be our nation’s conscience, holding those who aim to take away reproductive freedom accountable and always protecting and advancing access to reproductive health care, including abortion, for all of us. Education She knows that we must guarantee access to pre-kindergarten, childcare, and invest in debt-free college. In Congress, Sepi will support investments in early childhood education, tuition-free public education, and cancel student debt. Wages / Job Benefits In Congress, Sepi will support policies to improve the living conditions of workers, expand benefits for things like childcare, and ensure that workers always have the right to collectively bargain.
