Housing I understand the importance of the free market when it comes to housing, as supply and demand determine production, not government. That’s why I support streamlining processes and reducing fees where possible to assist in providing a mix of housing types, without compromising our standards. Infrastructure / Transportation Local control is incredibly important and is the most effective way of utilizing funding to get infrastructure projects done. I support advocating at the state and federal levels to get those dollars back to Placer County. Economy I’m diligently advocating for agriculture, to ensure local family farms and local ranchers remain a thriving part of our economy and community. Infrastructure / Transportation I support the advancement of the Highway 65 expansion to improve quality of life and pave the way for future economic development and job growth. Economy I’m fully supportive and excited about the CSU, Sacramento satellite campus coming to Placer County, which will eventually provide many opportunities for economic development. Housing It’s important to provide a platform for the construction of attainable and achievable housing to ensure that our teachers, law enforcement, fire fighters and other working families are able to afford to live in the communities in which they work. Economy I support programs that will incentivize businesses to settle in our area, and believe it is important to partner with local colleges and universities. Economy I support providing incentives, when fiscally prudent and responsible, to businesses that are bringing jobs to our region. This could include fronting infrastructure costs to later be reimbursed, providing grants or loans, and ensuring that Placer has zoning that can support mixed use, pedestrian-oriented districts and giving preference to local businesses. Taxes / Budget I firmly believe in zero-based budgeting, spending only what’s available, and ensuring that local government is prudent and conservative with its expenditures. Economy Sometimes the biggest hindrance for a small business is the bureaucracy and red tape required by government. I fully support simplifying these processes when at all possible to avoid putting roadblocks in front of those who are trying to get a business off the ground. Taxes / Budget I’m a firm believer in long term planning when it comes to fiscal health. Criminal Justice / Public Safety I’m an advocate for competitive compensation packages for our law enforcement and fire services. With the inevitable future population growth of Placer County, it is imperative we ensure our public safety services are well-staffed and compensated.
