Infrastructure / Transportation Bring the West Contra Costa Unified School District and the City of Richmond together to make improvements at Fairmead Park. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Continue making streets cleaner, better lit, and evacuation-ready by properly trimming trees and vegetation. Housing Fight for sustainable housing affordability—assisting first-time homebuyers in building generational wealth and remaining in Richmond—while simultaneously protecting the rights of our tenants. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Support rebuilding fire stations where needed—particularly those that are not currently safe and lack secure foundations–including Fire Station 63—so firefighters have safe, well-equipped facilities and sufficient equipment. Infrastructure / Transportation Initiate a community input survey and move forward with improvements for Hilltop Park. Housing Keep housing policies focused on stability, access, and pathways to homeownership. Infrastructure / Transportation Continue pressing for the long-delayed Hilltop Mall redevelopment to move forward, by urging the property owner and the City to reconcile outstanding issues and break ground—delivering new housing and businesses, expanding the City’s tax base, and increasing housing availability for residents. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Support City assistance for low-income residents to help with Zone 0 compliance and home hardening. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Ensure adequate staffing for police, fire and emergency response–especially for evacuations and disaster operations. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Enhance availability and the level of services by Community Resilience Centers in District 4. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Institutionalize City and County coordination on the General Plan–particularly around public safety, evacuation routes, public alerts, vegetation management, and disaster preparedness in the Valley. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Support repairing the Fire Department’s boat and dock, and ensure firefighters have the HazMat training and equipment needed to respond safely and effectively. Economy Expand equitable access to City grants and youth opportunities to support underserved neighborhoods in building community and generational wealth. Infrastructure / Transportation Improve routine maintenance and safety: lighting, tree trimming, cleanliness, and timely service response. Infrastructure / Transportation Deliver improvements to parks and family amenities, including the need for real restrooms, toddler fencing, sports and fitness equipment and community-park upgrades at LaMoine Park (also known as Cheese Park). Infrastructure / Transportation Align the City’s planning documents with clear implementation responsibilities so residents don’t fall through gaps. Infrastructure / Transportation Work with the City and County to plan dog parks that serve both City and unincorporated County residents.
