Healthcare Health and wellness brings longevity to individuals and society. We need to continue to have recreationalactivities and programs that promote health. We want safe parks, facilities, and recreation areas to promote health and wellness throughout all parts of our community. We also need to recruit more healthcare specialists to practice in Goodyear so our growing community can have their needs supported locally. Economy Communities are built through individuals that feel a sense of being “home.” We need to encourage development that focuses on home ownership, small business, locally run restaurants and companies. We need to limit future development of warehouses and rental apartment complexes. The future economic development of Goodyear should focus on being a community where individuals and families set roots and are invested in Goodyear, who ultimately stay to serve their neighbors. Criminal Justice / Public Safety It is vital for our community to have the personnel to maintain a safe community, prioritizing the highest level of support for first responders. A safe community draws citizens who care about the individuals and families within the community and also promotes better schools, businesses, parks, entertainment, etc. Government Reform Teri is committed to continuing the tradition of trust and respect between the community and it's government leaders. This transparency is a fundamental requirement for effective leadership. Government Reform It is important for Teri, as a constituent and small business owner, to find ways to improve efficiency that supports other small businesses and growth. Delays are costly to individuals and small businesses who rely on our city government.We need to ensure departments are communicating, take advantage of technological advancements, and find the best way to serve our community in the most accurate and timely fashion. Taxes / Budget Teri runs a small business in Goodyear with locations throughout Arizona, employing over 120 people. A small business cannot succeed if you are not a good steward of the revenue stream. This should always be a priority for a city councilmember. It is important to invest and spend wisely whether an individual, business, or city. It is also important to decrease any debt that is accrued to allow for future generations to thrive.
