My Top Issues

Rent controlled units

Unaffordable housing is causing us to lose essential workers and deny a stable educational experience for children, K-12

Enhancing services for senior citizens

Some of our seniors among the most vulnerable citizen population. We need to be thinking about the entire lifecycle of our residents who are born here being sure that they can stay here as they age.

Fund youth mentorship and leadership programs

Our rate of graduation is 77%. My engagement with youth indicates that many of them don’t have a vision for their future and don’t take advantage of free programs that will impact their earnings right after high school.

Who I'm Running Against

Jud Ashman (Democrat Party)

White male, previously republican. In office 12 years, plans to run in county council race next year. Pro developer, anti capping rent increases. No investment in youth programming. Ran unopposed twice. Reflect the voice of the population who are mostly affluent. Does not engage with most of the community only focuses on certain geographic areas in the city.
