Economy Having created many jobs over the years, I understand what it takes to create an environment where we can attract the best jobs toCarrollCounty. Again, I will take the team approach and work with the Chairmen and other commissioners as well as representatives from other governmental agencies and business to help promote an environment conducive to bringing quality, high paying jobs to our area. Economy CarrollCountyhas enjoyed a rich heritage of agricultural history and is still a leader in the state. I will work hard to keep a balance between our rural heritage and economic growth. We need to foster an agri-business environment and encourage both traditional farm operations along with more current trends of agricultural entrepreneurism such as organic farming, dairy alternatives and vineyards. I think it is important to both foster the growth of these and also to help promote a market for these products because the more marketable their products are, the more sustainable that lifestyle is. Economy I am a common man and will take a common sense approach to leading our district. I will work with the others who are elected both in the county and the cities as well as state governments to promote Positive Growth forCarrollCountyso our children will have a community that is at least as good if not better than the one we grew up in. Taxes / Budget I will work with the Chairman and other Commissioners to weigh the needs of the county with the resources we have available to develop a plan to get the most bang for our tax dollar. Government faces the same challenges we do personally in that our needs are virtually unlimited, while our resources are not. While it’s a novel idea that you can just raise taxes to do what ever is need, the reality is that every dollar that the government takes in comes off the table of each and every person who gets up, goes to work and works hard to provide for their families. It is vitally important that we work diligently to balance the needs of the county with the understanding that the revenues come from the sweat of its citizens.
