Economy Supporting statewide ballot initiatives that make the wealthy pay their fair share, limit the power of special interests in politics, and make public officials more accountable to their voters instead of their donors. Environment / Energy Prevent pollution by holding big polluters accountable, enforcing our existing fracking and drilling regulations, and calculating environmental and public health externalities when making land use decisions. Environment / Energy Ban industrial pesticides and herbicides that cause cancer and ruin our environment for generations to come. Legislation Support legislation that empowers victims, reduces the rape-kit backlog, and prevents domestic violence and sexual abuse. Government Reform Revising Adams County's local election regulations to reduce the influence of wealthy special interests in our local elections and make local officials more responsive to their residents' concerns. Healthcare Support and promote mobile clinics and health fairs. Government Reform Prioritizing staffing and human workers over unproven technological fixes like A.I. And automation systems. Healthcare Provide compassionate care for those struggling with mental health and addiction, including housing and employment assistance that provide long-term stability. Wages / Job Benefits Unequivocal support for labor unions, unionization efforts, project labor agreements, community work agreements, and workers' rights. Infrastructure / Transportation Promote and expand public transportation to get more people off the roads and reduce our road rage epidemic, ensure that public transportation is safe and usable. Immigration Equal access for our immigrant-owned small businesses, including expanded services for additional languages. Economy Promote farmers' markets and deals with local grocery chains to sell Adams County produce in Adams County, incentivize business that shortens supply chains and improves food security. Social Services Update the county's development standards and regulations to classify childcare as essential infrastructure so that we can expand access to childcare wherever it is safe to do so. Social Services Expand access and funding to existing childcare programs, whether it is through parks and recreation departments, afterschool programs, etc. Social Services Incentivize private businesses to include on-site childcare or, even better, direct funding for existing childcare small businesses through tax incentives. Wages / Job Benefits Promoting wage growth via whatever means are available, including an increase in the minimum wage. Wages / Job Benefits Fund more co-responder positions, provide all public safety staff a living wage and fully funded benefits, ensure that we can retain and recruit compassionate and diligent public servants. Infrastructure / Transportation Provide reliable, broadband internet to underserved communities like our rural and unincorporated residents. Social Services Centralize services for homeless people, work with our municipalities to reduce redundancies and inefficiencies when delivering these services, fully fund programs like TANF that prevent homelessness. Economy Revisit planning and development standards to fight corporate consolidation, protect family farms from industrial pollution and fracking, and promote innovations in agriculture and irrigation that prepare our community for new climate realities. Social Services Expand childcare access, fully fund summer and afterschool programs, and maintain safe spaces for youth to organize and congregate. Abortion / Contraception Protect a woman's right to choose through whatever means are possible, safeguard access to contraception and STI testing, advocate for policies that promote bodily autonomy and respect for reproductive rights.
