Yolanda Avila

Housing Yolanda believes affordable housing is a necessity for Coloradans across the entire county. She has a strong record of ensuring affordable housing is accessible across Colorado Springs and supports creative solutions to meet families where they are. Healthcare Health and human services that encompass public health, are essential for the well being of the residents of El Paso County. Yolanda will make sure that we have a safety net for our most vulnerable residents. She will advocate for a vigorous public health department to control pandemics, epidemics and lowering suicide rates. Economy As Commissioner, she will work to strengthen the county workforce center so that people of all abilities and walks of life can find meaningful employment and growth opportunities. Infrastructure / Transportation As someone who is blind and relies on public transit, Yolanda knows just how important it is to have safe roads, sidewalks, bridges, and a robust transit system that truly connects her community. She will work to improve coordination between government agencies, advocate for fair transportation funding, and make long-overdue projects like the Front Range Passenger Rail a reality—because when transportation works, it boosts the quality of life for all.
