Top Issues

Government Reform I believe it is time we put community issues before political agenda. Working with township boards, city councils, and school boards, we must identify issues that are important to residents at a local level, and take those priorities to Columbus. The government is to serve it’s people, not the other way around. If we are to win for the community, we must begin in the community. Criminal Justice / Public Safety A large part of our district is struggling with a spike in violent crime. It will be my goal on day one to work with groups like Middletown City Council, to address their funding issues so we can see more officers on our streets, better pay and more resources for our police and fire departments and direct results for our residents. We all have a right to a safe community, and our officers need our support. Government Reform Last but certainly not least... I am a Republican. At the core of my party, is the belief in limited government, lower taxes etc. In recent years, I have watched the state government get bigger, taxes go higher and bureaucracy run rampant. We need to send candidates to Columbus who are not afraid of reminding the establishment politicians of these principles. We need to whenever possible, legislate power back to the local level. Drug Policy Let us truly invest in treatment and recovery. Let's ensure that the sober living homes that receive tax payer dollars are monitored by our state health department. Let us truly look at this for what it is- a war. It is a war that we are losing. Wages / Job Benefits Our county and district has been built over the generations by union workers. Many of my own family members belong to unions. In a free market we need healthy unions to ensure that the working class is given a fair shake. In the 46th district, I will not support union busting legislation, but rather work towards building strong foundations with our union members, businesses and local governments.
