The County Coroner or Medical Examiner is responsible for inquiring into the cause and manner of death of a citizen in their jurisdiction. The County Coroner or Medical Examiner is also responsible for completing test results, documenting evidence, completing autopsies, and providing testimonies.
Must be a resident in the county for at least one year prior to qualifying for election to the office, a registered voter, at least 25 years of age, the holder of a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. Must not have been convicted of a felony offense or any offense involving moral turpitude.
Filing Requirements
Filing Fee (Major party candidates only): 2% of the annual salary for the office. Petition Signature Requirements (independent and minor party candidates only): 3% of the number of votes cast in the district for the office of governor in the last general election.
