Filing Requirements
Statement of Candidacy shall be filed with the Judge of Probate accompanied by $300.00 qualifying fee and a petition signed by one-fourth of one percent of registered voters (approximately 311) of city endorsing the candidacy of candidate. If a candidate cannot afford to pay the qualifying fee, they may submit, in lieu of said fee, a signed affidavit to that effect accompanied by a petition requesting their candidacy signed by not less than one-fourth of one percent of registered voters (approximately 311) qualified to vote in the mayoral election.
