The County Constable is the executive enforcement branch of the county justice courts. County Constables are peace officers responsible for law enforcement and also serve legal documents like restraining orders and warrants.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a qualified elector of the county. People who serve as constable are still eligible to hold another office of profit within the State of Alabama. Must not have been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment in the state or federal penitentiary.

Filing Requirements

Filing Fee (Major party candidates only): $50. Petition Signature Requirements (independent and minor party candidates only): 3% of the number of votes cast in the district for the office of governor in the last general election.
