The council in Arizona cities and towns is the local policy making and law-making body possessing broad authority and the legal power to govern the affairs of the community. The job of the council essentially is to use these powers granted by state law and local ordinances for the good of the community and its residents.
A candidate shall be a qualified elector of the City and shall hold no other elected public office for which the candidate receives compensation. The candidate shall have physically resided in the City of Bisbee for at least one year preceding the date of such election or appointment. The candidate must reside within the City limits during the term of office.
Filing Requirements
No filing fee; signature requirement of at least 5% and not more than 10% of the voters in the city.
