About this position
The council in Arizona cities and towns is the local policy making and law-making body possessing broad authority and the legal power to govern the affairs of the community. The job of the council essentially is to use these powers granted by state law and local ordinances for the good of the community and its residents.

Eligibility Requirements
A candidate must be a Qualified Elector. A candidate must be 18 years of age or older. A candidate must be able to speak, write, and read the English language. A candidate must reside within the Queen Creek town limits or annexed area for one year preceding the election. A person convicted of a felony cannot serve as a Council member until his/her civil rights have been restored. A person adjudicated an “incapacitated person” cannot serve as a Council member. A candidate must not be a current employee with the Town of Queen Creek.
Filing Requirements
No filing fee; signature requirement of at least 5% and not more than 10% of the voters in the city.
