The City Legislature is the municipality's governing body, responsible for voting on ordinances and policies, and often is in charge of hiring a city manager.
A candidate shall be qualified electors of the City. Council Members shall havephysically resided in the City of Holbrook for at least two years preceding the date ofsuch election or appointment. Council Members must reside within the city limitsduring the term in office. If a Council Member shall cease to possess any of thesequalifications, except as provided herein, or shall have been convicted of a felony orany offense in violation of official duties, the office shall immediately becomevacant. No person is eligible to stand for election or serve as a Council Memberwhile employed by the City.
Filing Requirements
No filing fee; signature requirement of at least 5% and not more than 10% of the voters in the city.
