The City Rent Board is responsible for informing the public of the Rent Ordinance, administrative duties, and conducting rental arbitration hearings, mediations and investigatory hearings on Reports of Alleged Wrongful Eviction.

Eligibility Requirements

A citizen of the United States and a qualified elector of the State of California and of the City of Berkeley

Filing Requirements

Filing fee is $$150. Petition signature requirement is Not less than 20 nor more than 30 voters (filing fee may be offset in whole or in part by the submission of up to 150 signatures of registered voters in the City; each signature of a registered voter shall offset $1 of the filing fee)
