The City Prosecutor is a local attorney whose responsibilities include reviewing police reports alleging violations of the City's municipal code, filing appropriate charges, corresponding with victims and witnesses, and representing the City in court.
Must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old on or before election day, a registered voter living in the jurisdiction identified on the nomination paper at least 30 days prior to the end of the nomination period. Must be qualified to practice in all the courts of the State of California, and must have been so qualified for at least five (5) years immediately preceding the first day upon which candidates for the office of the City Prosecutor are permitted to file nominating petitions for such office with the City Clerk.
