Eligibility Requirements
Must have been a resident of the county for at least two years prior to the election. Must be a registered voter, at least 25 years of age, a citizen of the United States and of the state of Georgia, the holder of a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. Must not have been convicted of a felony or any offense involving moral turpitude.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee: $1392.25 (3 percent of the minimum annual salary value for the office). Petition signature requirement: For independent and minor party candidates only: 5 percent of the total number of registered voters eligible to vote in the last election for the office.
