City Legislature in Waynesboro, Burke County, Georgia

Must have been a resident of the city for 12 months prior to the date of election of members of the council; each shall continue to reside therein during that member's period of service and to be registered and qualified to vote in municipal elections of this city. In addition to the above requirements, no person shall be eligible to serve as a councilmember representing a council ward unless that person has been a resident of the ward such person seeks to represent for a continuous period of at least six months immediately prior to the date of the election for councilmember and continues to reside in such ward during that person's period of service.

Filing Fee: 3% of gross salary from the prior year; petition signature requirement of 1 percent of the total number of registered voters eligible to vote in the last election for the specific office if unable to pay filing fee.
