The U.S. House of Representatives is one of two chambers for the federal legislature. Representatives begin the legislation process, offer amendments, and serve on committees.
Representative must be at least twenty-five years old, have been a citizen of the United States for at least seven years, and be an inhabitant of the state they seek to represent.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $0; signature requirement of least 1 percent of the voters of the candidate’s party in at least 10 counties and in the aggregate not less than 0.5 percent of the total vote of the candidate’s party in the state, as shown by the last general election.
