County Treasurer-Finance Officer in Champaign County, Illinois

Minimum Age 18 years petitions must be signed by at least .5% (.005) of the vote cast for the candidate of his/her party who received the highest number of votes in the county at the 2016 General Election.

If a candidate seeks to run for countywide office or county board member elected from a county board district, then the candidate's petition for nomination must contain at least the number of signatures equal to 0.5% of the qualified primary electors of his or her party in the applicable county or the county board district.

File with the county clerk. Election laws prescribe the forms to be submitted when seeking nomination or election to office. Petitions sent by mail (United States Post Office only) and received AFTER midnight of the first day for filing and in the first mail delivery or pickup of the first filing day shall be deemed filed as of 8:00 a.m. of the first filing day or as of the normal opening hour of such day, as the case may be.
