Eligibility Requirements
Candidate must be a qualified elector of the municipality and one-year residency in the municipality preceding the election.
Filing Requirements
No filing fee; Signature requirement: 1% of the total vote cast at the last preceding election in the village for president if candidate is non-partisan. If candidate belongs to an established political party, at least .5% (.005) of the qualified primary electors of his/her party in the village. For positions in a ward/district, the number of required signatures can be no less than 25.
