Eligibility Requirements
Candidate must be a qualified elector and a registered voter. A person is not eligible to serve as park commissioner if that person is in arrears in the payment of a tax or other indebtedness due to the park district or has been convicted in any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony. Must be resident of the Park District at least one year prior to the election. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Filing Requirements
No filing fee; Signature Requirement of not less than 2% of the number of ballots cast at the last election for trustee or commissioner in the district, but in no case by less than 25.
