The Forest Preserve District is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, which translates the open-space needs of county residents into ordinances designed to protect and enhance natural areas and support general operations it holds lands containing forests, prairies, wetlands, and associated plant communities or lands capable of being restored to such natural conditions for the purpose of protecting and preserving the flora, fauna and scenic beauty for the education, pleasure and recreation of its citizens
Candidate must be a resident of the forest preserve district and a registered voter.
Filing Requirements
No filing fee; Signature requirement of at least 0.5% of the total number of registered voters of the political subdivision for which the nomination is made or a minimum of 25, whichever is greater.
