The County Clerk is responsible for maintaining records of governing body transactions such as resolutions and ordinances. The County Clerk maintains and provides records including birth, marriage, civil union, and death certificates. The County Clerk also issues permits and licenses.
Candidate must be a registered voter and resident of the county, must have not been convicted of a felony
Filing Requirements
No filing fee. No signature requirement for Democratic, Republican, or Libertarian Candidates. However, candidate must file a declaration of candidacy and statement of economic interest (CAN-12) with the county election board. For Independent and minor party candidates signature requirement is 2% of the total votes cast for secretary of state at the last election held for that office in the district the candidate seeks to represent.
