How to run for County Attorney

Meet eligibility requirements
No person shall be eligible for the nomination or election to the office of county attorney of any county unless such person shall have been regularly admitted to practice law within the state of Kansas, and is at the time of nomination and election a regularly qualified practicing attorney of this state. Also, they must be an elector and resident of the state when taking position.

- Democratic and Republican primary candidates must have valid signatures of 3% of the party's registered voters from the district. [KSA 25-205(e)(3)] Independent candidates must have valid signatures of 4% of the total registered voters from the district. [KSA 25-303(c)]
