The City Marshal is the executive officer of the City Court and has the power of a sheriff in executing the Court's orders and mandates. The Marshal also determines the level of personnel and requests those resources necessary from the city.
The candidate shall be a resident elector of the territorial jurisdiction of the court and shall possess a high school diploma or its equivalent as determined by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Filing Requirements
$75 qualifying fee, plus an additional $37.50 State Central Committee fee for major party candidates, plus an additional $37.50 Parish Executive Committee fee for major party candidates if assessed by Parish Committee In lieu of filing fees, candidates can submit a petition with 100 signatures.
