About this position
State Representatives are members of the state's lower chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State representatives are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.

Eligibility Requirements
A candidate must be 18 years of age or older, must be a resident of the district they seek to hold office to for a minimum of 2 years, must not have been convicted of a felony offense, must have no outstanding fines with the Louisiana Ethics Administration Program

Filing fee is $500; signature requirement of 400
