City Police Chief-Marshal in Zachary, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana

The candidate shall be an elector of the municipality when elected. At the time of qualification, the candidate shall have been domiciled for at least the immediately preceding year in a city or town (6 months in a village) except that a person who resides outside of the corporate limits of the village of Maurice may be elected chief of police. There is also an exception in the town of Gueydan, allows for a person who resides outside the corporate limits of the town but inside the territorial limits of Ward 3 of Vermilion Parish. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to the village of Napoleonville.

$75 qualifying fee, plus an additional $37.50 State Central Committee fee for major party candidates, plus an additional $37.50 Parish Executive Committee fee for major party candidates if assessed by Parish Committee In lieu of filing fees, candidates can submit a petition with 200 signatures.
