The county drain commissioner is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining surface water drainage systems under Public Act 40 of 1956 and are elected for four year terms.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidate must be a United States citizen, a registered elector of the county in which they are seeking election for at least 1 year, and not be a county supervisor.

Filing Requirements

Signature requirement is based on district population size as set forth in Michigan code 168.544f; In lieu of signatures, filing fee is $100.
