Eligibility Requirements

must be eligible to vote in Minnesota, must have not filed for another office at the upcoming primary or general election, must be 21 years of age or more upon assuming office, must have maintained residence in their district* for at least 30 days before the general election

Filing Requirements

Filing free for candidates in Cities of the First Class: $20-$80*; candidates in Cities of the Second and Third Class: $5-$40*; candidates in Cities of the Fourth Class: $2-$15* (Contact city clerk for fee determination). No petition signature requirements.
