Eligibility Requirements
Candidate must be U.S. citizen, at least 21 years of age, resident of the state for at least 1 year next preceding election, and resident of the county for at least 3 months next preceding election. Candidate must be a registered voter in county at time of election. Candidate must not be delinquent in payment of any taxes. Candidate must not have pled guilty or been found guilty of a federal felony or misdemeanor or a state felony.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee: $50. Petition signature requirement: 2% of the total number of voters who voted at the last election for candidates for the office being sought or equal to 10,000 voters, whichever is less. .
