The County Auditor is the chief accountant for the county. County Auditor duties include preparing and administering accounting records for county funds, overseeing audits of county departments, and regulating the budget.
Candidate must be U.S. citizen, at least 21 years of age, and resident of the state and county for at least 1 year next preceding election. Candidate must be a registered voter in county at time of election. Candidate must be familiar with the theory and practice of accounting by education, training, and experience. Candidate must not be delinquent in payment of any taxes. Candidate must not have pled guilty or been found guilty of a federal felony or misdemeanor or a state felony.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee: $50. Petition signature requirement: 2% of the total number of voters who voted at the last election for candidates for the office being sought or equal to 10,000 voters, whichever is less. .
