Candidate must be a U.S. citizen for at least 15 years, must be a qualified Missouri voter for at least 9 years, must be licensed to practice law in Missouri, must be at least 30 years old, retirement is mandatory at age 70.

Judge must file a declaration of candidacy for retention. No signatures, no filing fees.
