The Governor is the chief executive officer of a state and is responsible for implementing state laws and overseeing the operation of the state executive branch. The Governor oversees legislative proposals and vetoes, executive budgets, and implements executive orders.
Candidate must be a qualified elector, 30 years old, a U.S. citizen for 20 years, and a resident of Mississippi for at least 5 years.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $1000 for all candidates; Signature requirement of 1,000 qualified electors independent candidates wishing to get on general election ballot without partisan primary.
