The State Insurance Commissioner is the chief executive of the Department of Insurance and is responsible for maintaining fair insurance rates, preventing unfair practices by insurers, and regulating claims handling.
Candidate must be a qualified elector, at least 25 years old, and a resident of Mississippi for at least 5 years.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $500 for all candidates; Signature requirement is 1,000 qualified electors for independent candidates wishing to get on general election ballot without partisan primary.
