Meet eligibility requirements
A candidate must be 18 years of age; a citizen of the state; and an elector of the county in which the duties of the office are to be exercised; or (b) in the case of an office consolidated between two or more counties, an elector in one of the counties in which the duties of the office are to be exercised.

Petition Signature Requirement: Independent, Minor Party, and Indigent Candidates are required to submit 5% or more of the total votes cast for the successful candidate for the same office at the last general election.
