City Legislature in Saco, Montana

A person is not eligible for the office of city council member unless the person is a resident for at least 60 days preceding the election to office of the ward electing the person or of an area that has been annexed by the city or town and placed in the ward.

Filing Fee: For offices having an annual salary of $2,500 or less and candidates for the legislature, $15; For county offices having an annual salary of more than $2,500, 0.5% of the total annual salary; For other offices having an annual salary of more than $2,500, 1% of the total annual salary; For offices in which compensation is paid in fees, $10; For officers of political parties, presidential electors, and officers who receive no salary or fees, no filing fee is required. If candidate is unable to pay filing fee; they must submit a petition containing signatures totalling 5% of the vote cast for the successful candidate for the same office at the last general election.
