Must be 18 years of age, a resident for at least 1 year and a U.S. Citizen
Filing Requirements
No filing free. Petition Signature requirements: For independent and minor party candidates: 2% of the entire vote cast for members of the General Assembly in the district at the last preceding general election or 100 signatures, whichever is lower; For major party candidates: 5% of the total vote cast in the district by the voters of that political party at the last preceding primary election held for the election of that party's candidates for the General Assembly or 25 signatures, whichever is lower.
