The City Legislature is the municipality's governing body, responsible for voting on ordinances and policies, and often is in charge of hiring a city manager.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, be a citizen, and have lived in the municipality for at least 1 year.
Filing Requirements
All candidates must file a petition with the municipal clerk by 4:00pm on the filing deadling. Number of signatures needed is equal to 5% of the total votes cast by political party on the last Primary Election of General Assembly (2% for independents).
