The Mayor is the chief executive officer of the municipality. They often preside over council meetings and may have the power to hire and fire heads of municipal departments.
A person shall be qualified to hold the office of city judge if such person is a qualified elector of the city; has been awarded a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof; has taken the oath of office after having been issued a certificate of election or having been duly appointed to fill a vacancy; and has furnished a surety bond.

Filing fee $50, may be waived if Pauper's Statement is submitted to County Clerk; no nominating petition required
