How to run for County Legislature

Meet eligibility requirements
Shall be a resident elector of the district he represents at the time of his nomination, his election and throughout his term of office. No elective or appointive official of any town, village or city or any other municipality shall be eligible to hold office as a County Legislator.

- No filing fee. Petition signature requirement: 5% of enrolled voters of the party in the district or 500, whichever is less (major party); 5% of the total number of votes cast for governor at the last gubernatorial election in the district or 1,500, whichever is less (independent)
