City Legislature in Aberdeen, Adams County, Ohio

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age by the time of election, a resident of the city/village for at least 1 year immediately prior to election, and a registered voter in the city/village. Candidate must be a resident of the ward if applicable. Candidate must not hold any other public office except as a notary or state militia member.

Filing fee: $30. Petition signature requirement: 10, for villages with population < 2000. If village population is > 2000: 50 signatures for major party candidates, 25 for minor party candidates. Requirement for independent party candidates is based on number of votes cast in last general election for governor: if < 5000, 25 or a number = 5% of the vote (whichever is less); if > 5000, number = 1% of the vote.
